Research excellence from Dresden
The Dresden region has always been a place of great inventions: the SLR camera, the toothpaste, the porcelain, the filter bag, the bra and the first German audio tape, to name just a few.
Since 1992, Fraunhofer researchers are represented in numerous technology fields in Dresden. Now, Dresden is considered the Fraunhofer capital with its eleven institutes, facilities and branches. With the title “City of Science 2006” Dresden’s commitment as a future-oriented location for science and research was honored.
In addition to the extraordinarily high density of research facilities, the location is characterized by a close integration of research and industry, resulting in new top performance and innovative developments that set global impulses.
